It’s Jack’s first September! The beginning of one of my favorite times of year. (okay, so I promise I wrote this in September and just didn’t get around to posting until October 😛 ) It’s too bad it’s been SO hot out! I’m talking like 90 degrees. 😮 We had a 7 day stretch of 100 degree weather.
He’s been up to so much lately! He can sign milk (which he actually started signing last month, but I forgot to mention it!) We have been working on ‘more’ now. He can also sign ‘all done’.
He is just starting to enjoy food. He hasn’t really been to into it until recently. Which I suppose is good. Food before 1 is just for fun, right? We’ve still made sure to introduce a wide variety, helping his palate out while he’s young!! He loves hummus, cottage cheese, cherry tomatoes, avocado. Last night we had him eating peas and carrots, which he seemed to enjoy!
Jack has been so good at balancing on his own for a few months and he took his first step on September 20th!! I couldn’t hardly believe it! He was only 8 months old! He loves to crawl over to me, grab my fingers to pull himself up, and then he will wiggle his hands off of my fingers to balance. He will either take a step or practice sitting down from standing! This little dude is going to be walking before we know it!!
He has 2 teeth on the bottom still. I’m pretty sure he’s cutting more teeth though because he has been pretty miserable. Thankfully he still is sleeping pretty well at night. He usually wakes up once. Last night he woke up to eat at 5am and then went back to sleep until 6:40am. It hasn’t been bad at all!!
I started sleep training him last month. It’s been such a huge help. Nothing crazy, but better for all of us! It used to be we would get him to sleep and he would wake up crying the second we laid him down, or he would nap for 30 minutes on the dot and be up! Now that we have him ‘sort of’ put himself to sleep, he naps longer and better. Really it’s just been for naps because sleeping at night has never really been a problem for him.
Jack loves his big brother. He just lights up every time he sees him. They love chasing each other around, playing peekaboo, and playing in the mulch outside. Jack can even drive cars with Preston and even the other day they were hiding out under our dining room table running from monsters. 🙂
Jack can wave, he can give kisses, and he can high five!! High fiving is really the only new thing out of those three. But he gets better and better each day!!
Here is Jack over the months!! Jack is 23 pounds (92%) and 28 inches long.
Jack and Preston side by side!!
Well, that’s all for now! I’ll leave you with a few more cute photos!
…until next time! xoxo ❤
Awwww he’s adorable! Great job with all of the signing, a great means for baby communication.
